Saxony Investment Team
Eric Horan
Mr. Horan directs all investment activities and client relations for Saxony. Prior to forming Saxony, Mr. Horan was Head of Acquisitions and Portfolio Management for Phoenix Property Company’s international advisory platform. Additionally, Mr. Horan previously held positions with MetLife, JPI and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mr. Horan’s real estate investment experience of over 15 years includes multifamily, office, and retail property types — as well as capitalization structures comprised of institutional, private equity, and family office partnerships — both domestic and international.
He holds a Master of Land Economics and Real Estate, as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management from Texas A&M University.
John Hawkins
Mr. Hawkins focuses his efforts on developing capital relationships for new investments and providing investment committee oversight. Mr. Hawkins has been active in commercial and residential real estate investments for over 37 years, including his role as President of Hawkins-Welwood Homes (www.hwhomes.com) in Dallas, Texas — which is a luxury, custom, single-family home building company that was founded in 1961.
Mr. Hawkins is also a board member of several privately held companies in the small cap sector. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Real Estate and Finance from The University of Texas at Austin.
Chad Russell
Mr. Russell is responsible for sourcing and underwriting new acquisitions for Saxony. Prior to joining Saxony, Mr. Russell spent over 11 years within the capital markets groups of HFF and JLL where he was involved in debt and equity placement for institutional, REIT, and private investment platforms. His experience includes office, retail, industrial, and multifamily transactions totaling over $10 billion.
Mr. Russell holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Real Estate and Finance from Texas Christian University and is a licensed real estate salesperson in the State of Texas.
Tim Smyczek
Mr. Smyczek provides asset management and analytics support to all aspects of Saxony’s investment platform. He transitioned into his role with Saxony following a decorated professional tennis career which included regularly competing in all four Grand Slam events and reaching a career high singles ranking of #68 in the world in 2015.
During this time, Mr. Smyczek was also a member of the United States Tennis Association Player Board. After retiring in 2019, Mr. Smyczek earned his MBA from SMU’s Cox School of Business.
